Welcome to Cape Town’s only ERC Speed Boat Club!
Established on 8 May 2022, Orion RC Ocean Racing is the only club dedicated to electric model speed boats.
As a member, you are part of a new group of people who shares a passion for speed boats and the fun and excitement these little racers bring.

Orion RC is located on the Bokmakierrie Street side of Sonstraal Dam. The map below shows you where the various Boat Clubs can be found.
The demarcation of Sonstraal Dam as a RC Model Boat water body has been made by the City of Cape Town in terms of the Recreational Water Use By-law of 2018. In terms thereof, a Code of Practice has been adopted and is displayed on both sides of the dam. All clubs operating at Sonstraal Dam are legally required to adhere to this Code of Practice.
